Hi,
Program for launching of Global Health Watch 2 Report was organized on 6th Nov. in Gandhi Medical Collage, Bhopal, MP. Program is jointly organized by Community Medicine Department, GMC, Bhopal and Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (PHM-India).
Reports copy is released to public by Dr Nirbhay Shrivastava, Dean, Gandhi Medical Collage, Bhopal. In his welcome speech Prof Udai Jain, Ex Vice Chancellor, APS University, Rewa and President, Madhya Pradesh Vigyan Sabha gave brief introduction of JSA and its important programs done earlier. He also emphasized importance of GHW report at this juncture.
Dr Thelma Narayan, Jan Swasthya Abhiyan, Community Health Cell, Banglore gave brief overview of Global Health Watch Report 2 to the audience. She informed about various sections of GHW report 2 and its importance. She gave detail account of development paradigm and need for alternative development paradigm. There are many factors affecting health like terror, war, globalization, urbanisation, sanitation, water crisis and education. Important health care sector are also given in report like health system advocacy, mental health, health for migrants, asylum seekers, medicine etc. Very important issues like global health governance, various aid agencies etc are also influencing health program. She provided very good narration of report.
