Been 10 odd yrs since marriage collapsed. Still searching for true love.
At the rate marriages are disintegrating, wonder if true love still exists. Marriage has become a fake, a fraud, and just sh*t.
"We are all hypocrites. We all fail to love."- from the movie 'The Magus', starring Candice Bergen, Anthony Quinn, & Michael Caine.
Now, me here in the last part of my life. A lonely drifter looking for the dignity of love.
Must say that you unmarried blokes who are 'lampas sa kalendaryo' are like me. Leading a humdrum existence. A writer describes as, "a fugue of tedium, of stultifying ennui". Searching for someone to give meaning to that empty world of yours. Les miserables having that pangs of hunger for love. Of course, you won't admit you're also having that
quest. Hehehe.
Diff is, you'd have that gnawing feeling inside you that you're still missing something in your life. Unlike me. Been through it. 'di na ako magsisi. Marriage is as much a part of life as it is to breathe the free air. So is divorce. Hahaha.
“Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
Twenty fourand there's so much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.
Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things
that don't get lost.
Like a coin that won't get tossed
Rolling home to you.
Old man take a look at my life
I'm a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that's true.
Lullabies, look in your eyes,
Run around the same old town.
Doesn't mean that much to me
To mean that much to you.
I've been first and last
Look at how the time goes past.
But I'm all alone at last.
Rolling home to you.
Old man take a look at my life
I'm a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that's true.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.”
- from the song 'Old Man' by Neil Young

Couple of yrs ago, bumped into a Pinoy nurse. Mid-30s. Wife also a Pinay nurse. Married in Phil. Went to Eng. Separated. Re-united after 3 months. After Eng contract expired, came to Aus. Again separated. This time he said it's for good. They were on working visa here. So, probably divorced. Returned to Phil after visa expired and went their separate ways. Have a small kid. Kawawa ang anak.

Phil's really a promiscuous society. Been like that even before left. Shame culture. But not guilt culture. Ie, ashame to display it. But don't feel guilty doing it. Wearing a mask, so to speak.
