Vhong Navarro, Roxanne Cabanero y Acosta battle for truthIn an interview with former Vice President Noli Kabayan De Castro today, Feb 19, 2014, Atty. Virgilio Batalla, legal counsel of Roxanne Cabanero y Acosta, an alleged rape victim of TV host-actor Vhong Navarro, revealed some important reasons why it took his client long before she decided to file a case of rape against Vhong, according to the lawyer, the victim has prescriptive period of 20 years to file the case.
The lawyer added that his client decided to file a case now because of an inspiration she gets from Deniece's case. "Roxanne decided to file a case of rape against Vhong because of Deniece Cornejo case," Atty. Virgilio Batalla also said during his interview with Kabayan Noli De Castro. The lawyer also confirmed that Roxanne Cabanero is ready to face the consequences.
On the other hand, Batalla kept his silence when asked about Roxanne's connection to Cedric Lee, one of the alleged perpetrators of Vhong Navarro in an incident happened in Forbeswood Heights Condominium last Jan. 22, according to him, Roxanne did not give any information regarding the issue.
Meanwhile, the lawyer admitted that Roxanne joined several beauty pageants including Ms. Resorts World 2010 and Miss Bikini Philippines. Aside from this information, there are also reports circulating online that she was removed from the official list of the Bb. Pilipinas 2011 Contestants over a scandal.
