Here are some tips lang to get better photos for submission. ('coz otherwise, ayaw na lang submit..hehe) no fret, simple tips lang ni.

1. Exposure - get your brightness/contrast. Practice Manual mode or if dili pa mo sure jud, use P mode and apply appropriate "exposure compensation" lang..kanang plus-minus bitaw..mao na..i would set it to +3 or +7. Also, check your picture styles...I prefer +1 sa contrast, sharpness og saturation...or just choose Vivid...depende sa inyung taste.

2. WB - Sa color/WB use Kelvin mode if possible...naa sa mga 5000k-5600k ang nindut kung init...aw check lang gud kung unsay nindut...ayaw nang blue ra pud..ayaw pud nang yellow ra kaayu ang WB.

2. Focus - kung blurred ang subject, aw way ayo! Unless deliberate ang pag out-of-focus nimu..basin style jud diay..hehe use single point or continuous AF..NEVER AUTO FOCUS! Choose the appropriate focus-point for EVERY shot. EVERY shot jud...ayaw pag tinapol! Use blur and focus to separate background/foreground from your subject/s.

3. Frame/Compose smartly - ayaw pagpataka lang og tira. Check your margins and borders. Check nga walay nangaputol nga tudlo, kamot, tiil og ulo. If you need to get closer, putla og tarong, ayaw ang2x.hehe

4. Bokehlicious Background - blurry/creamy backgrounds are a must. Use long lenses (135-above) or smallest apertures (1.4-2.8) to get optimal depth-of-field...para blurry jud background ba. This is good for portrait or single-subject shots..not for groups.

5. Brilliant Colors - tungod kay FESTIVAL man. Festive jud ang mood.

6. Beautiful Faces - showcase ni siya...in a group, naa pud ni sila dapit sa atubangan iposition sa mga choreographers. We are looking for nice eyes and smiles.

7. Funny Faces - mga ba&%$, pangag nga dagkog ngisi. Nice subjects pud ni. Festive pud. Naa pud ni sila sa unahan naka position. Showcase man pud ni sila. :)

8. Lines, Symmetry, Order in Groups - groups shots ni sila usually. Por exampol, kang mga galinya sila...katong mga "beautiful faces" og "funny faces" ang i-focus bya ha.

9. Documentary Style shots - aw pwede diay pud tong mga gipangkapoy, gilaay, gihangak og uban pa. They tell the REAL story jud nga kapoy, hangak og way hinungdan ning litseng street dancinga ni! @#$%!

10. Keep It Simple And Maximize Experience! (KISAME) Simple compositions/subjects/techniqu?es/framing/etc ALWAYS win. Get these shots first and be "creative" after. And of course, have a fun and educative(?) experience. Init bya..sayang pud og wala ra ka nalingaw.

PS You can be more creative using stobist-style or use creative lenses (fisheye, tilt-shift, lensbaby), or use LOMO cameras (i will be shooting film this Sunday! w00t!) or use old-school techniques such as panning shots, multiple-exposure shots, jumping shots(?!hehe), light painting(?), studio techniques...og uban pa mga styles og techniques diha...bahala gud og dili modaog inyung entry..hehe
