Letter from Brian Bailey

Dear GCTC members,

I'm proud to say that there were nearly 30 of us that attended Cecil Mamiit's fundraising event today.....By all measures, the event was a success.....He was able to raise about $9000.00 which he will donate to the flood victims of the Philippines.....

As a group, we showed our support by donating over $1000 in money, which included cash/check donations and Dr. Serafin Garcia's winning bid for Manny Pacquiao's boxing glove worth $650.00....

Thanks to all that participated....The money will go to a worthy cause....This won't be the last time Cecil will do a fundraiser, and I hope that we will continue to support him in this worthwhile endeavor...

Joseph Lizardo or Popet, as most know him, is certainly a person who never shied away from setting goals for himself. Popet has done much in the tennis arena – a sport so seldom given attention here, to make this country proud. Fellow Davis Cupper and legendary tennis champion Felix Barrientos adds, “Popet’s discipline and work ethics are one of the best I have ever come across. He is a dependable teammate and can be fully counted on in times of great pressure.”

Letter from Cecil Mamiit

Thanks for your support and for rallying your members.  They were so nice and supportive of my event.  Brian u helped so much.   I'm estatic on the money given from gctc.  In lieu of the support I would love to do a little clinic for the club in the near future.  Maybe after the holidays.  Let's cordinate this.  Gctc was the biggest help to the cause.  So this is what I would love to give back.
